Why Water Is So Important

benefits of water

Today I am writing this article dehydrated. I have not consumed enough water today and my god has it affected my day. I have a minor headache, I am not focussed on tasks, and I have a dry mouth. No need to worry about me, I have grabbed a large glass of water and it is time to tell you consuming it is so important.

Lets start off with saying it is one of the most important substances on Earth. All humans, animals, and plants must have water to survive. Without it nothing would exist. Just take a moment to think how crazy that is.

Water For The Brain

85% of your brain is made up of water. It gives the electrical energy for all brain functions. A lack of water for the brain can cause problems with focus, memory, brain fatigue, and headaches. When your brain is well hydrated, you will be able to think faster and be more focused.

Water For Your Blood

Blood is around 85% water. It transports valuable nutrients around the body. Nutrients from food are broken down in the digestive system where they become water soluble. They can then be transported around the body to cells and organs throughout the body.

Importance For Your Body

Your body uses water in all its cells, organs, and tissue to help regulate its temperature and maintain other bodily functions. Your body loses water through breathing, sweating, and digestion, which is why it is important to rehydrate by drinking fluids and eating foods containing the important liquid.

It Is A Lubricant

It serves as a lubricant in a variety of ways. The water in our saliva helps us chew and swallow so our food can slide down smoothly. Along with this it also lubricates our joints to allow them to move more freely. When dehydrated, the body takes water away from our joints which can cause greater friction on them. You need to look after them joints. They will thank you when it gets to old age.

It Flushes Harmful Toxins

It removes harmful toxins from the body through urinating and sweating. Aiding in bowel movements to ensure waste is flushed out quickly before it becomes damaging to the body. Your liver and kidneys will be grateful as they won’t have to work as hard at flushing out waste products.

Overall water is the most valuable liquid on earth. We should be thankful to it for giving the earth life, for giving us as humans life, and our body will be thankful for supplying it with water so it can do all these amazing things and keep us functioning in the correct way.
