You Are What You Eat

The food you eat is everything. Eating is not just about nourishing the body, quenching appetite or filling the stomach; how people eat says a lot about them, what is happening to them and what will eventually happen to them.

There is a popular saying that “you are what you eat” and that is very true. Your food is the source of all the nourishment that the body gets; this in turn decides your health, your performance, your energy levels and your moods.

Paying attention to what you eat is not only vital; it is a core responsibility of every person. Your body will never perform better than how you treat it and what you feed it with. Sadly though, most professionals and career people pay little or no attention to their bodies, resulting in avoidable and unnecessary health complications.

A good health will always be one of the greatest treasures anyone can ever possess. As a result, you will not be able to fulfill your dreams easily if your health is failing. Stop giving that flimsy excuse of being too busy to pay attention to what you eat. Value your health, value what you eat and you will see a significant health and fitness boost.

Feed Your Body Correctly

If you want to get the best out of your body, feed it properly. When your body has the appropriate nourishment for your activities, you will see how effective the human body can be.

Are you an athlete? You will definitely go on a special diet for your sport, geared towards getting the best out of the body and prepping it for peak performance.

If you are a company executive with a lot of mental work. Your diet should be geared towards improving mental alertness and reducing the oxidative stress.

If you were to ask some of the most successful people how they did it and what is important to them, they will always involve good health, quality nutrition, and sufficient exercise.

Food does not only provide the energy that the body needs, it also meets the daily demand of tissue repair, nervous and hormonal coordination, cellular and tissue functions and the manufacture of new cells to replace broken down ones. What you eat and how you eat will determine if you are living well or you are damaging your body.

Food Is Medicine

Health professionals claim that over 80% of the known chronic diseases can be avoided by eating well and appropriately. You are not only what you eat, you also live as healthily as what and how you eat.

On a general note, if there is any major adjustment you need to make, it is to decide to eat clean. This involves taking a permanent break from the junks and the heavy calories to focus on more natural food that will boost health and improve vitality.

It is time to do away with all those artificial foods that lead to most of these major health upsets; the list includes sweeteners, colorants, unnecessary oils and preservatives. Stick to a clean diet and you will be glad that you did.

You must realize that when it comes to your health, the stakes are pretty high: your happiness, your freedom and your ability to live the kind of life that you dream of. If you do not take care of yourself, who will?

You only get one chance to achieve your ideal life. The road to achieving this starts by consuming the correct foods and allowing your body to function on all cylinders.
